Students in engineering and fine arts, enrolled in a course on flow visualization at the University of Colorado, have employed common fluids from food coloring dyes to gasoline in an effort to create images of fluid physics that have impact and aesthetic appeal. Their images reveal a range of physics from the well-known to the obscure. Students were particularly interested in buoyancy, surface tension, and combustion. |
