Master鈥檚 student Erik Jensen and undergraduate William McCloy, both students in the civil engineering department, placed first in this year鈥檚 GeoPrediction competition. The competition was to predict the axial capacity of a driven pipe pile installed off the coast of New Orleans, LA. Jensen and McCloy placed first out of 21 entries from universities across the country. The competition was sponsored by the Geo-Institute of the American Society of Civil Engineers and was held at their annual Geo-Frontiers conference in Dallas, TX. Fellow CU-Boulder students Kenneth Gillis and Devon McLay also participated in the competition and placed in the top ten.
