New engineering program in Paris in summer 2019

Flyer for the course, with sketch of the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame cathedral in the background

This course seeks to examine the intersection of Structural Analysis/Design with Architecture, combining rigor with beauty.

This is best examined through iconic structures of a type seldom taught in undergraduate curriculum (arches, cables, shells), three-dimensional frames. Those may be bridges, towers, stadiums, cathedrals, museums, or large civic structures.

You will earn three Engineering credits with CU Engineering  while living and learning in a bustling urban center where you can explore the Parisian culture and daily life in your free time.

Application deadline: February 1st 2019.

Highlights

  • Go beyond the classroom and apply complex theories of structural analysis on-site of some of the world's most iconic landmarks in the heart of Paris
  • Live and learn in a bustling urban center where you can explore the Parisian culture and daily life in your free time
  • Earn three Engineering credits in Maymester
  • Enjoy excursions around Paris and France

The Course

  • Course: CVEN 4835/5835: Structural Analysis of Iconic Structures: Sense and Simplicity
  • Credits: 3 upper-division credit hours
  • Approved for:
    • Engineering tech elective
  • Grading: This is a 澳门开奖结果2023开奖记录 course, so you will receive letter grades
