Y帽igo Velayo is a multiracial School of Education Embedded Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Sex Therapist. He was born and raised in the Philippines and has a Master鈥檚 degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University.聽 He joined the聽CAPS聽Substance Abuse Services Team in 2007.聽Y帽igo teaches Focus on Alcohol Concerns (FAC) classes and facilitates STARS (Striving To Achieve Real Success) groups. Drawing on his skills and interests as a researcher, he also develops program evaluations for FAC and STARS.聽Y帽igo has training and experience in working with individuals who are diverse in their cultural and ethnic background, sexual orientation, class, age and other areas.
Y帽igo enjoys working with the students at CU because he believes that with this age group, small changes made now can have large effects down the road.
