What is an operating model?Ìý

An HR operating model is the way an HR function is organized to deliver value to its internal customers and the organization. The operating modelÌýencompasses six key areas: people, service delivery model, technology, measurement, governance, and process. A strong operating model has clarity, cohesion, and collaboration across ALL six areas.Ìý

  • HR Blueprint is implementing a new HR operating model for the campus, the Partner Model. The Partner Model brings together HR policies and standards, transactional support, and technology within the Central HR team while relying on departmental units to define procedures, make decisions around talent, and align the subject matter perspective to HR-related activities.ÌýIn this model, an HR Partner is embedded within the unit for HR consulting and strategic support and acts as a key link between Central HR and the unit. This gives the units a direct conduit into the Central HR centers of excellence.
  • The new HR operating model is not something that will happen overnight but rather develop over the next several years through three horizons of work. Our working groups are the conduits of change and will help transform human resources.ÌýIn the coming years,Ìýthe areas of focus will be:
    • People------------------------------Culture Working Group
    • Service Delivery----------------Structure & Governance Working Group
    • Technology----------------------Technology Working Group
    • Measures -----------------------Strategy Working Group
    • Governance --------------------Process & Standards Working Group
    • Process--------------------------Process & Standards Working Group
