Reminder – use vacation leave by July 1, 2024

CU allows full-time staff to keep a maximum of 44 days (or 352 hours) of vacation within a fiscal year (July 1 - June 30). If you meet this maximum, you must either take or schedule vacation before June 30, or you will lose it. Double check your leave balances now, and make plans to use any hours of vacation time over the maximum allowable accrual time before the July 1 leave sweep deadline. As always, vacation leave requests are subject to the approval of your supervisor; don’t wait until June to put in your leave requests. If you have any questions regarding vacation leave, please contact your supervisor or Tanya Patzer.

Information Security Awareness training requirement

All CU employees (faculty, staff and student employees) must complete the University’s Information Security Awareness training course within the first 60 days of employment and every two years thereafter.

Winning names unveiled for new electric Buff Buses

The polls are closed, and results are in! After receiving more than 200 submissions and tallying the results of almost 500 votes, the ��ſ��2023��¼ transportation team has announced the winning names for the two newest electric Buff Buses: Buff-E the Emissions Slayer and Ralphie Runner. FM Safety Committee

The FM safety committee meets the third Tuesday of every month to discuss general safety concerns, review safety reports and on-the-job injuries and recommend training needs and resources. If you are interested in attending a meeting or bringing an issue or idea that is safety related, please reach out to your area representative on the or contact our Safety Specialist Don Fitzpatrick.

Exploring with ISIEC

VCIS and Infrastructure & Sustainability Inclusive Excellence Committee (ISIEC) present: “This is Not Who We Are” coming Jan. 8

As part of our ongoing efforts to support and better understand the campus and Boulder community, please join us for a private screening of “This is Not Who We Are.”

Boulder prides itself on being beautiful, welcoming and inclusive. However, in 2019, racially charged and dangerous policing involving a Black Naropa student made national news. The documentary film This is Not Who We Are explores the gap between Boulder’s self-image and the more complex lived experiences, both historical and contemporary, of its Black citizens. The director of the documentary will be on hand to facilitate what can be, and often are, difficult conversations about race relations in our community.

When: Jan. 8, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., in person only (there will not be a Zoom option for this event)
The movie will be streamed in English with Spanish subtitles
Where: Main Campus in the Music Theater (S120), which is the chamber hall near the rear entrance to the IMIG Music Building
Light snacks and drinks will be provided

Supporting campus inclusivity through the use of pronouns

All members of the ��ſ��2023��¼ campus community want to provide a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment for one another. One small way we can do that is by using language conscientiously, including pronouns. See the CU Pride-Office's Guide to Pronoun Usage to learn more about the use of pronouns, why they’re important, and how to be mindful in your everyday language. Learn:
