The Program in Jewish Studies and University Libraries’ Rare and Distinctive CollectionsÌýannounce a new competition for anÌýInnovations in Jewish Life Collections (IJL)ÌýGraduate Research Fellowship, which provides a $2,000Ìýfellowship to a °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û2023¿ª½±¼Ç¼ graduate student forÌýeither the Spring, Summer, or FallÌýsemester. The Fellowship requires approximately 60Ìýhours of researchÌýover the relevant semester in the IJL collections (for example, in a typical Fall or Spring SemesterÌýthis would involveÌýapproximately 4 hours of work per week, distributed according to the student’s and supervisor’s schedules).ÌýResearch will be conducted inÌýthe Rare and Distinctive Collections Reading Room in Norlin Library during the room’s open hours, Monday - Thursday,Ìý11:00am - 4:00pm.

The Fellow will work with librarians and archivists to produce an original research paper or project using one or more of the IJL collections. Upon completion, the paper will be made available on theÌýInnovations in Jewish Life CollectionsÌýwebsite for public viewing.

CU graduate students from all disciplines in the arts and humanities are welcome to apply; preference will be given to candidates with experience and/or interest in Jewish Studies, European or American history and culture, and/or archival work. Preference will also be given to students who have not yet worked or conducted research in the IJL Collections; however, all graduate students are encouraged to apply. Competency in foreign languages will be useful and should be mentioned in an application, although this is not a prerequisite for application.
