The Program in Jewish Studies and University Libraries鈥� Rare and Distinctive Collections听announce a new competition for an听Innovations in Jewish Life Collections (IJL)听Graduate Research Fellowship, which provides a $2,000听fellowship to a 澳门开奖结果2023开奖记录 graduate student for听either the Spring, Summer, or Fall听semester. The Fellowship requires approximately 60听hours of research听over the relevant semester in the IJL collections (for example, in a typical Fall or Spring Semester听this would involve听approximately 4 hours of work per week, distributed according to the student鈥檚 and supervisor鈥檚 schedules).听Research will be conducted in听the Rare and Distinctive Collections Reading Room in Norlin Library during the room鈥檚 open hours, Monday - Thursday,听11:00am - 4:00pm.

The Fellow will work with librarians and archivists to produce an original research paper or project using one or more of the IJL collections. Upon completion, the paper will be made available on the听Innovations in Jewish Life Collections听website for public viewing.

CU graduate students from all disciplines in the arts and humanities are welcome to apply; preference will be given to candidates with experience and/or interest in Jewish Studies, European or American history and culture, and/or archival work. Preference will also be given to students who have not yet worked or conducted research in the IJL Collections; however, all graduate students are encouraged to apply. Competency in foreign languages will be useful and should be mentioned in an application, although this is not a prerequisite for application.

  • a brief letter听that describes your interests in conducting research in the Innovations in Jewish Life Collections and what specific research topic, question, and/or IJL collection(s) you intend to explore. We suggest you familiarize yourself with the collections before submitting your application on the IJL website here.听Please also include听any relevant experience or academic studies.听(500 word maximum)
  • the name and email address of your primary advisor, as reference
