Pianist David Korevaar performs Liszt

May 29, 2010

Associate Professor of Piano David Korevaar performs two of Liszt’s Swiss pieces: Eglogue and Mal du pays. The first is an evocation of spring (a nice relief after the Vallée d’Obermann); the second, based on a Ranz des vaches that Liszt evidently liked well enough to recycle many years later in his famous Nuages Gris, is filled with nostalgia and longing. Recorded live at the University of Colorado, January 26, 2010.
