Become a Journey Leader
Journey Leaders are students within the New Student & Family Programs department that help welcome our newest class of CU Buffs to campus. As a Journey Leader you will gainÌývaluable leadership experience while meeting new people and getting involved on campus.
Responsibilities
- Help new students and families feel welcome at CU by sharing stories, answering questionsÌýand directing them to resources
- Set up for events including: decorating event spaces,Ìýsetting up directional signs, lifting items, arranging furniture, mingling and more.Ìý
- Use problem-solving skills to work through challengesÌýand correctly answer questions from students and families
- Represent °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û2023¿ª½±¼Ç¼ in a positive wayÌýat all times and uphold campus policies andÌýexpectations

What does it take?
- Must be a current °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û2023¿ª½±¼Ç¼ student in good academic and judicial standing
- Participate in and earn credit for an 8-week leadership course in the spring semester prior to serving as a Journey Leader
- Demonstrate the ability to be reliable, responsible, confident, flexibleÌýand willing to help new students and their families find resources and support at °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û2023¿ª½±¼Ç¼.
- Exhibit the ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse group of team members, students, parents, facultyÌýand staff.
- Have a desire to continually learn more about °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û2023¿ª½±¼Ç¼ and convey institutional pride.
