We are pleased to share that PISEC, the Partnerships for Informal Science Education in the Community, has been selected by the ��ſ��2023��¼ Outreach Committee as one of the recipients for 2017-2018 of the ��ſ��2023��¼ Outreach Awards! The proposal, Computation-Based Education Curricula for PISEC, will allow for the creation of curricula designed to facilitate student exploration of 21st-century physics tools such as programming, data collection and reduction, and electronics -- all within the playful, informal framework of the PISEC program. Former group member Daniel Reinholz, now an assistant professor of STEM education at San Diego State University, has been working with Niral Shah to develop the Equity Quantified in Participation (EQUIP) classroom observation tool. They will be testing this tool to see if it can help teachers recognize their implicit biases. Nice work Dan!
