Student Involvement Week will highlight myriad opportunities for University of Colorado at Boulder students to be involved with their campus and the greater Boulder community beginning Sept. 7.

The week's fairs, receptions and open houses will feature more than 500 organizations and programs and will challenge CU students to answer the question, "What kind of Buff are you?" The week is part of CU-Boulder's continuing series of themed weeks launching the 2010-11 academic year.

"Involvement Week offers a unique opportunity for students to meet representatives from a number of organizations and discover which ones best fit their personal interests," said William Taylor, president of CU Student Government. "Whether involvement takes the form of student groups, student government, volunteerism, athletics or Greek organizations, I recommend that all students find some outside activities with which they can identify and engage."

Student Involvement Week events include:

-- Sept. 7, 11 a.m., Greek Life Fair featuring 41 Panhellenic, multicultural and traditional fraternities, University Memorial Center terrace along Euclid Avenue

-- Sept. 7, 3 p.m., Study Abroad Fair featuring more than 300 programs in over 65 countries, UMC's Glenn Miller Ballroom

-- Sept. 8, 11 a.m., Student Involvement Fair featuring more than 100 student groups and programs, Dalton Trumbo Fountain Court outside the UMC

-- Sept. 9, 11 a.m., Volunteer Fair with 67 organizations highlighting volunteer opportunities, Dalton Trumbo Fountain Court outside the UMC

Student Involvement Week is presented through the cooperation of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Volunteer Resource Center, Office of International Education, Residence Life, Career Services, Dennis Small Cultural Center, the Herd, CU Student Government and the Student Involvement, Activities and Leadership Development Office.
