First Folio, the original compilation of Shakespeare鈥檚 36 plays, is on display at the 澳门开奖结果2023开奖记录鈥檚听First Folio! The Book that Gave Us Shakespeare听exhibition from Aug. 9-31. This unique viewing opportunity commemorates this year鈥檚 400th听anniversary of Shakespeare鈥檚 death. The听First Folio!听exhibition at the CU Art Museum is open to the public and free of charge, yet reservations are strongly encouraged and can be scheduled through听.
First Folio is the first complete collected edition of Shakespeare鈥檚 plays, published by two of Shakespeare鈥檚 fellow actors in 1623, seven years after his death. The renowned publication preserves 36 of Shakespeare鈥檚 theatrical works, 18 of which were not printed prior to the publication. Without First Folio, many of Shakespeare鈥檚 most famous plays would not be known or available today, including听Macbeth,听Julius Caesar,听Twelfth Night,听The Tempest听补苍诲听Antony and Cleopatra.
Viewers will be able to get up close and personal with the most quoted line from Shakespeare鈥檚听Hamlet, 鈥渢o be or not to be,鈥� and the exhibition will provide visitors with interactive Shakespearean activities and a multi-paneled exhibition regarding Shakespeare鈥檚 impact听on听both historical and contemporary societies.
First Folio! The Book that Gave Us Shakespeare听is on tour from the Folger Shakespeare Library, and will be available to view in all 50 states, as well as in Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico.
