2017 ARHE Skiathon: A Collegiate Recovery Leadership Summit | Keystone, Colorado

From Feb. 2 through 5, the听CU Collegiate Recovery Center (CUCRC) hosted over 185 students in recovery from 25 other colleges听at the first-ever national held in Keystone, Colorado.

The ARHE Skiathon provided a unique opportunity for students in recovery at 澳门开奖结果2023开奖记录 to connect with other sober students from around the country, to gain inspiration and leadership experience and enjoy an epic adventure in the Colorado Rockies celebrating听life in recovery.

Over 200 students and staff attended, making it the largest gathering of students in recovery involved in collegiate recovery programs to date.听CUCRC Program Manager Sam Randall was the event chair, along with听20 CUCRC students and two听alumni who were there to help host and participate in the event. All听had a great time connecting with students from across the country.

The program included a two-hour leadership workshop, guest听speakers, recovery meetings and plenty of time hitting the slopes.听Ten students and听alumni听also participated in a six-minute storytelling challenge on Saturday night, including CUCRC alumnus Robert Shearon.

Keynote speakers included Scott Strode, founder of听Phoenix Multisport听Mechie Scherpereel;听a graduate of the Texas Tech University听Collegiate Recovery Community听and now alumni coordinator at The Ranch at Dove Tree; and Ariel听Britt, a graduate of the听University of Michigan Collegiate Recovery Program and program coordinator for听the听Kennesaw State听Collegiate听Recovery Community.
