What: "Crip Theory and Inclusion: Roundtable with Robert McRuer"

The second annual kicks off Monday, Feb.听20, at 10 a.m. The opening session will feature a roundtable discussion with visiting scholar Robert McRuer, Professor of English at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.听
In this informal discussion, McRuer will focus on interdisciplinary theories of identity, how they play out in the classroom and how we might move forward toward greater听inclusion and action.
McRuer鈥檚 work focuses on queer and crip cultural studies and critical theory. His first book centered on contemporary LGBT听writers, particularly LGBT writers of color, and his most recent book attends to cultural sites where critical queerness and disability contest heteronormativity and compulsory able-bodiedness.听He is currently in the process of completing another book titled听Crip Times: Disability, Globalization, and Resistance.
