Experiencing grief can be an overwhelming experience and is often confusing and frightening.

Although bereavement can be quite painful, it is not a sickness or abnormal condition. It is not something to be 鈥渃ured鈥 or 鈥渇ixed.鈥澨齊ather, it is part of the natural human response to losing someone close to us鈥攖he cost of loving and being loved.

The 听has organized a听grief support group for those who are recently bereaved or are听just beginning the grief process. Interested participants will meet once a week听in a group setting starting Tuesday, May 30.

Sessions will provide information about grief, support for members to听determine their own needs and coping skills听as well as time to share experiences with the group.听Handouts will provide additional information that participants can share with others.

Licensed staff counselor听听will facilitate the group process, providing information and understanding in a safe, supportive and accepting environment.

Interested participants must register for all eight sessions in advance.听Please听email connie.north@colorado.edu听for more information or to sign up.
