Help advance the commitment to being a diverse and inclusive campus by attending听the Spring 2018 Diversity and Inclusion Summit听on Feb. 13.
The free, campus听summit includes 30听informative, challenging and interactive听sessions continuing the theme Building the Road Map: Finding Our Way听and听will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. in the University Memorial Center. See the full schedule.
In advance of the Feb.听13 event, campus members are encouraged to engage in the following "One Read":听an article by Brian Arao and Kristi Clemens titled 听The concept of "brave space" will be useful in many of the听summit's sessions and beyond, which is why the Diversity and Inclusion Summit planning committee chose this text as a听One Read听for 澳门开奖结果2023开奖记录.
The summit is presented by the Office of Diversity, Equity and Community Engagement, the Chancellor鈥檚 Advisory Committees, Staff Council, Athletics and the city of Boulder.听
Following the Diversity and Inclusion Summit,听CU Athletics and听Recreation Services will听host the Inclusive Sports Summit Feb. 14鈥�15. Free and open to the public, the inaugural summit will cover social justice, LGBTQ, race and ethnicity, health and wellness, and careers in sport. Panelists will include current and former pro and student-athletes, national analysts and broadcasters, scholars and others.

- From Safe Spaces to Brave Spaces听with Brian Shimamoto: 9:30-10:45 a.m., UMC Glenn Miller听West听Ballroom. Shimamoto听will engage participants in a conversation about creating brave spaces in order to challenge students鈥攁nd ourselves鈥攖o stay in the difficult dialogue that brings about real change.
- Creating Brave Space with Brian Shimamoto: 11 a.m. to听12:15 p.m., UMC Glenn Miller听West听Ballroom.听Participants will have an opportunity to engage with one another to discuss how to apply the principles for creating brave space听in different environments on campus. Shimamoto also will demonstrate听techniques to create brave space听in the dialogue about diversity and inclusion.
