The °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û2023¿ª½±¼Ç¼ TRANSforming Gender Conference will be held virtually on March 5, 10:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., and is free and open to °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û2023¿ª½±¼Ç¼ students, staff, faculty and community members.

Sponsored by °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û2023¿ª½±¼Ç¼’s Pride Office, the conference offers an opportunity to build community and a place for allies to learn more about transgender issues and identities. Workshops and talks cover a wide variety of topics, including queering biology, transgender youth advocacy, transgender in the workplace, interviews with trans activists and explorations of trans identities.ÌýThe Pride Office is part of the ’s Center for Inclusion and Social Change.

People planning to attend the Saturday, March 5, portion of the conference are asked to .ÌýVirtual attendees will need to by Angelica Ross, as well.

Keynote speakers

Angelica Ross, an actress (Pose, American Horror Story) and transgender rights advocate, will give a keynote address at 7 p.m. on March 3. in the University Memorial Center Glenn Miller Ballroom. The event is free and open to the public, and no tickets are required. Admission for the event will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The event will also be offered virtually— if you would like to attend virtually. °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û2023¿ª½±¼Ç¼’s Cultural Events Board is co-sponsoring the event with the Pride Office.

Sam Feder, a Peabody Award-nominated film director, will give a keynote address during the TRANSforming Gender Conference at 1:30 p.m. on March 5. Feder is the director of the Netflix original documentary film Disclosure. Feder’s address will be given virtually.
