This weekend brings the Project Kind 5K and open mic night for mental health awareness, a showing of The Whale, a farming service opportunity, the West African Highlife Ensemble, a dive into the night sky, Passport to Asia and more.

Visual artist and graphic designer Parisa Tashakori is visiting campus听to talk about her commercial design work in Iran, messages and more.听

Embrace serendipity by opening yourself up to new ideas, cultures and perspectives. This event will help students embrace the unknown.听

Join this celebration of Asian culture and heritage, hosted by Asian Unity. There will be live performances, free food catered from locally owned Asian restaurants and more. The event is free and open to all, regardless of background! Register to attend.

Health and Wellness Services is having a Succulent Social! Students will plant succulents and enjoy free food from Cosmo鈥檚 Pizza.听

The Whale, starring Brendan Fraser, is a film about the relationship between an obese English teacher and his daughter.听


Saturday, April 8

10 a.m.1:30 p.m.听鈥嬏Wild Child Farm
Take part in an upcoming farming service opportunity, just North of Boulder. Those in attendance will receive a free lunch.听

11 a.m.3 p.m.听鈥 Start at the听Visual Arts Complex
Engage with your听community and further conversations about mental health this weekend. Complete a 5K听or come to听cheer on fellow Buffs. Free for runners and spectators. Volunteers needed听to help with day-of race operations.

68:30 p.m.听鈥 Crown Institute
Watch or perform spoken word, poetry, musical performances and more at this "Open Wound"听open mic night.听Free food is provided, but please be sure to grab a ticket if you plan to attend. Volunteers needed for set-up and clean-up.

7:30 p.m.听鈥嬏Imig Music, Grusin Music Hall
Enjoy a free performance from the West African Highlife Ensemble, the first university ensemble in the U.S. to perform highlife music.
