Halloween is right around the corner, and this week brings “a bunch of Hocus Pocus.” Join the ATLAS Center’s annual festival, a Halloween cycling class, a talk on feelings about climate change, The Power of Laughter, cookie decorating, scary movies and more.

Managing your time is an important skill, in college and beyond. Stop by the Engineering Center for some time management tips, information and resources.

3:30–5:30 p.m. IBS building, Room 155
During this presentation, a speaker will grapple with questions posed by climate issues in today’s world. The event provides a unifying framework with a variety of disciplines, topics, sectors and regions represented.

Get your heart pumping with a free Halloween-themed cycling class at the Rec.

During Faculty Tuesdays, renowned College of Music Faculty take the stage. This week, flutist and electronic musician Grace Leslie is performing. She is an assistant professor of music technology and director of the ATLAS Brain-Music Lab.


Wednesday, Oct. 25

The uncertainty of climate change has caused many people to feel a range of emotions and reactions. Join to discuss your feelings on the subject.

Noon–1 p.m. CASE E351
Laughter can be the best medicine. This information session will cover all the powerful aspects laughter has to offer. For example, it can reduce stress, boost the immune system and enhance brain chemistry.

7:30 p.m. Muenzinger Auditorium (E050)
is celebrating haunted cinema every day Oct. 25–31. This Wednesday, features “Tremors” starring Kevin Bacon and Burt Ward. The main characters face terrifying worm-like creatures in their journey through Perfection, Nevada, a remote desert town.

Friday, Oct. 27

12:30–2:30 p.m. Museum of Natural History (Henderson), BioLounge
Plan out your “Hallowee-kend” with peers while decorating cookies! Coffee will also be brewing.

5–8 p.m. Beach Park on the Hill
It’s time for the annual “Hill”oween event at University Hill. There will be a movie, costume contest, pumpkin carving and free food.

7–10 p.m. Rec Center climbing gym
Wear a costume to the climbing gym this Friday for a scary climbing event! There will be treats and tricky partner climbs.

8 p.m. CHEM 140
Hocus Pocus is a Halloween classic. The 1993 film follows a trio of witches who are resurrected by a teenage boy.


Saturday, Oct. 28

9 a.m.–4 p.m. ATLAS Center $15–$35
This festival is for experimental games and interactions. There will be a variety of talks, workshops, weird games, alternative interfaces and more.

5:30 p.m. The Connection
Watch the Colorado Buffaloes take on the UCLA Bruins this Saturday at The Connection. Sko Buffs! Free pizza available (don’t forget your Buff OneCard).
