As our spring semester hits full stride, I want to remind us of the standards of conduct we hold ourselves to and our need to remain vigilant in protecting and supporting each member of our community. We face persistent challenges in our efforts to foster a truly inclusive °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û2023¿ª½±¼Ç¼, and we share responsibility for enabling a safe, welcoming campus for all.

The campus is continuing to engage in year three of Academic Futures—implementing the strategic initiatives’ themes and projects and transforming them into the campus’s work priorities.

With the Thanksgiving holiday upon us, please know that I am personally thankful for your hard work and dedication to diversity, equity and inclusive excellence.

Campus leaders have announced that they've accepted the Inclusion, Diversity and Excellence in °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û2023¿ª½±¼Ç¼ (IDEA) Plan—the campus’s blueprint for diversity, equity and inclusive excellence.

Later this month, the university will announce the structure of its Center for Teaching and Learning, which will be a combined resource for all who have a teaching role on campus.

As °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û2023¿ª½±¼Ç¼ enters into year three of the Academic Futures initiative, our implementation begins in earnest. Campus will experience the integration of our strategic initiatives into Academic Futures’ projects and themes.

The IDEA plan is currently under final administrative review by senior campus leadership, who will meet this month with the authoring committee to discuss recommendations and their implementation.
