Piano Technician Mark Mikkelsen—who supports the care and maintenance of the College of Music’s fleet of 160 pianos, two harpsichords and an organ—used ingenuity to rebuild, refurbish and restore a donated fortepiano.

During °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û2023¿ª½±¼Ç¼’s Swipe It Forward campaign, students donated a total of 2,423 meal swipes. Orla McGrath, a student who helped lead the campaign, shared her experience of going from a support recipient to an organizer.

With the rise of grocery prices over the past year, food banks saw an increased need among their communities. °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û2023¿ª½±¼Ç¼’s Basic Needs Center offered relief by distributing 84,220 pounds of food at its monthly mobile food pantries during the 2022–23 academic year.

Each year, move-out produces tons of unwanted items headed for the landfill as students pack up to return home for the summer. °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û2023¿ª½±¼Ç¼ implemented a solution to reduce waste and promote sustainability and generosity. Instead of trashing items, students participated in the Give & Go Donation Drive.
