After serving for 18 years as an attorney in public service, Devona Futch Able (Law) has accepted an appointment as an administrative law judge for the Social Security Administration in Alexandria, La. Devona lives in Louisiana with her husband and four children.

David M. Dye (PolSci), founder of Trailblaze, Inc., works with people in leadership roles to teach them how to build successful and engaged teams of employees. Since graduating, David has served as president of the Colorado chapter of the National Speakers Association and recently released an award-winning book, Winning Well: A Manager鈥檚 Guide to Getting Results Without Losing Your Soul.

The CU Men's Rugby Club will聽celebrate聽their 50th anniversary during Labor Day weekend. Alumni are encouraged to attend. After 18 years at 9NEWS in Denver, Cheryl Preheim (Comm) anchored her last newscast for the station on Dec. 16. The Indiana native has interviewed countless newsmakers, including former President聽Jimmy Carter and Nobel Peace Prize recipient Malala Yousafzai. Cheryl and her family now live in Atlanta, Ga., where she works as a morning anchor for WXIA.

Julie Wehmeyer (Arch) is an associate principal with GreenbergFarrow, a nationally recognized architecture, engineering, planning and development consulting firm. Julie is a registered architect in Illinois and is an active member of the American Institute of Architects.

Holly Wagstaff-Bellomo (Advert) has been hired as Romano鈥檚 Macaroni Grill鈥檚 new vice president of marketing. Holly served in the same position for Denver-based Noodles & Company. She lives in Denver with her husband, David, and their children.

Sharon Cairns Mann (MComm) won the 2016 Colorado Authors鈥� League Annual Award in the short fiction category for 鈥淜nife River Flint.鈥� The story appeared in Rozlyn: Short Fiction聽by Women Writers and Tesserae: A Mosaic of Story in 2015. DJ Chamberlain (MAeroEngr) started a mountain campus above Fort Collins for growing cannabis through responsible hydroponic and horticulture techniques. He aims to expand and share knowledge of new techniques for growing and breeding cannabis and cannabis oil extraction. His privately held company, H.A.S.H., helps individual growers with proper, pestfree growing. DJ鈥檚 book, Aromatic Cannabis, outlines many advances in growing and harvesting.

Scientist Kristin LaVelle Thunhorst (MChemEngr; PhD鈥�98) is a lead research specialist in 3M aerospace and commercial transportation and has 16 patents. She is a supporter of STEM education and encourages children to develop their interests in science.
