In 2003 Jennifer Kuzma (PhDChem) joined the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs and the Center for Science, Technology and Public Policy at the University of Minnesota. She works as an assistant professor at the university and as associate director of the CSTPP. After earning her degree at CU, she became a research fellow at Rockefeller University鈥檚 plant molecular biology lab. This September she co-authored a report that examined the potential applications, benefits and risks of nanotechnology-based food and agriculture.

In 2007 and 2011聽Arturo Jimenez聽(A&S; Law鈥98) was elected to the Denver Public Schools Board of Education to represent northwest Denver. He will finish his current term in November. Arturo is also completing 17 years as an immigration attorney at the Law Office of Arturo Jimenez P.C. Lauren McCain聽(MPolSci; PhD鈥03) is a federal lands policy analyst with Defenders of Wildlife, a nonprofit conservation organization. She works to defend, strengthen and expand federal law, policy and management that conserve wildlife and habitat on federal lands. She co-founded and served as executive director of the Southern Plains Land Trust, which protects grassland species on private lands in the Southern Great Plains. She also has helped conduct conservation field projects in Africa and Mongolia, studying wild animals. She lives in Denver.

Ivar Frithsen聽(MCDBio鈥95) joined Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont, N.H., as a hospitalist. He previously worked in Keene, N.H., also as a hospitalist. He received master鈥檚 and medical degrees at the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Hahnemann University. Ivar earned a master鈥檚 in clinical research from the Medical University of South Carolina where he also completed a fellowship in family medicine.

Steven Schwankert聽(MJour鈥95) has published a book, Poseidon: China鈥檚 Secret Salvage of Britain鈥檚 Lost Submarine, the story of a British submarine he discovered off of China鈥檚 coast. A certified scuba instructor, Steven founded SinoScuba in 2003. It is Beijing鈥檚 first professional diving operator.

Freddy is founder and owner of SweetWater Brewing Co. in Atlanta, which opened in 1997.The business has grown to 87 employees. Beginning in 2008 he built the company to include 4,000 customers before successfully selling it to TriNet in May 2012. Prior to ExpenseCloud, Eric worked in the software industry for 15 years in various sales management positions. He, his wife and three children reside in Los Angeles.
