Lucy and her husband own Cocobelle Designs, a purse, sandal and jewelry business. They live on the coast of Uruguay with their three daughters. While Lucy loves beach life, she says she misses Boulder and the Flatirons. She is the sister of聽Tori Peglar聽(MJour鈥�00), the editor of the聽Coloradan.

Chandler Smith (Mktg鈥�99) was named executive director of the Grand Valley Outdoor Recreation Coalition, based in Grand Junction, Colorado. The organization plays an integral role in fostering a sustainable and inclusive outdoor recreation industry across the Western Slope. Smith lives with his wife and daughters in Grand Junction and remains a principal with The Ride Collective, which produces the road cycling events Copper Triangle, Tour of the Moon, Tour de Vineyards and the Enchanted Circle Bicycle Tour.

Disneyland on the Mountain: Walt, the Environmentalists, and the Ski Resort That Never Was, a nonfiction book written by Greg Glasgow (MEngl鈥�99) and his wife, Kathryn Mayer, tells the story of a ski resort the Disney company tried to build in Mineral King, California, throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Coinciding with the start of the modern environmental movement, the Sierra Club environmental organization filed a lawsuit against the project that was eventually presented to the Supreme Court. The book also features the late John Harper (PhDGeog鈥�74), one of the Sierra Club activists who worked against the Disney project.

Merrill Lynch financial advisor Daniel Sandlin (Fin鈥�99) was named to the 2023 Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Advisors list. Dan is senior vice president of The Sandlin/Crowley Group, a full-service wealth management practice that helps individuals organize their financial lives. Dan manages more than $450 million in assets while growing each year.

The Colorado State University board of governors named Amy Parsons (Law鈥�99) as president of Colorado State University. She has 16 years of experience in higher education leadership. She previously served as CEO of a global e-commerce company based in Denver.

Lara Salazar Day (Jour鈥�99), chief culture and communications officer at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck鈥檚 Denver office, joined the board of directors at the Denver Fire Department Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the Denver Fire Department by providing public education, leading efforts to improve firefighter safety and quality of life, and providing direct resources to meet firefighters鈥� needs. Lara has worked for Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, a law firm, for more than 10 years.

Former Buffs basketball star Chauncey Billups (Soc ex), who played 17 seasons with seven teams in the NBA, is now head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers. Chauncey is the first Forever Buff to become an NBA head coach.

Coast Guard commander Lance Tinstman (Mktg) was selected to serve as the senior defense official at the U.S. Embassy in Costa Rica. He, his wife, Leah, and son, Lance Jr., relocated to San Jose, Costa Rica, from Washington, D.C., in September 2020.聽

Hunter Sykes (Geog, Hist) produced and directed an award-winning conservation documentary, The Hunter Legacy. The film examines 80 years of conservation and change in Kenya through the eyes of the descendants of big game hunters. The production was filmed in part by fellow Buffs alum Darren Campbell (贰苍惫颁辞苍鈥�94).

Caryn Hartman (Anth, RelSt) of Denver won the 2019 Nautilus Award for Best Children鈥檚 Illustrated Fiction Book for Dorje the Yak, a dual-language story in English and Tibetan.
